When the general speed limits apply

Drivers must obey the speed limits set by the Reglamento and by traffic-control devices (signs) on public roads (Art. 235). The general limits listed in Article 236 apply only when there are no traffic-control devices indicating other limits. The Secretaría may also modify the maximum and minimum limits where it deems necessary, by first installing the corresponding signs (Art. 236).
