How speed infractions are graded: the 30% rules

Article 236 grades speed infractions by how far you stray from the limits. Exceeding the authorized maximum speed by 30% makes the infraction ‘Muy grave’ (very serious). Driving 30% below the authorized minimum speed makes the infraction ‘Grave’ (serious). Both rules apply to the limits in the Reglamento and to those posted by traffic-control devices.
