Downhill grades: control speed with the engine
On downhill grades, drivers must control their speed with the engine. It is prohibited to drive down with the gearbox in neutral or with the clutch pedal pressed. Coasting removes engine braking and relies entirely on the brakes, which can overheat and fail. Fuente: Reglamento de la Ley de Tránsito y Vialidad del Estado de Yucatán, Artículo 239.
