The officer's whistle code

Officers accompany their hand signals with the whistle (Article 306, section VIII): one short blast = STOP; two short blasts = GO; one long blast = CAUTION (reduce speed); three long blasts = TOTAL STOP for every vehicle approaching the intersection. In congestion the officer gives three or more short blasts calling for order and calm.
