Red light: stop — and a serious infraction if you run it

Facing a steady red light, drivers must stop at the stop line marked on the pavement; if there is none, before entering the pedestrian crossing zone (Article 308, section I). Pedestrians must not enter the roadway on a red for vehicles unless a pedestrian signal allows it. Running a red light (violating Article 308 section I) is classified as a SERIOUS infraction by Article 446.
