Priority order of traffic control devices

When different traffic controls seem to contradict each other, Article 298 sets the order of priority: I. signals and indications of officers; II. temporary (circumstantial) signing that modifies the normal use of the road; III. traffic lights; IV. vertical signs; V. road markings. The higher-priority device prevails; between signs of the same type, the more restrictive one prevails.
