When an emergency vehicle approaches
When an emergency vehicle on urgent service approaches with its lights and sirens activated, drivers in the adjacent lane must slow down, yield, and take a parallel position as close as possible to the edge of the right lane or the curb, outside the intersection — stopping and remaining still, if necessary, until it has passed.
Emergency vehicles on urgent service try to travel in the highest-speed lane, which is why you clear toward the right (Fuente: Reglamento de la Ley de Tránsito y Vialidad del Estado de Yucatán, Artículo 287).
