Railroad crossings: the train always goes first

Vehicles running on railroad rails have preference over all others. Approaching a railroad crossing, you must stop at a minimum distance of 5 meters from the nearest rail — except where the tracks run parallel or convergent to continuous-circulation roads, where you slow down and pass with caution — and cross only after making sure no rail vehicle is approaching, without unnecessary delay.

If your vehicle becomes immobilized on the rails, strive to move it off; if you cannot, immediately take every measure within your reach so the train operators are warned of the danger with sufficient advance notice (Fuente: Reglamento de la Ley de Tránsito y Vialidad del Estado de Yucatán, Artículos 223 y 245).
