No overtaking near an intersection

On two-lane, two-way roads, overtaking on the left is prohibited from 15 meters before an intersection, a railroad crossing, a tunnel or an underpass — precisely the places where right-of-way conflicts concentrate and an oncoming or crossing vehicle can appear with no room to react (Fuente: Reglamento de la Ley de Tránsito y Vialidad del Estado de Yucatán, Artículo 256).
