Over the limit: medical and urine examination
When the breath test yields a concentration above the limit, the officer takes the person examined to the Secretariat, where its medical staff performs the medical and chemical (toxicological) urine examination to determine the alcohol level according to the parameters of the Criminal Code of the State of Yucatán. If the urine result is positive and the alcohol level exceeds 110 milligrams per deciliter, the corresponding sanction is applied and, where appropriate, the case proceeds under the applicable legal provisions.
