Driving under drugs or medications
It is forbidden to drive when the driver has ingested or introduced into their body drugs, psychotropics, narcotics or similar substances. The prohibition includes, in any case, medications or other substances whose effect alters the physical or mental state appropriate for driving without danger (art. 332). The detection tests normally consist of a medical examination and clinical analyses performed by the Secretariat’s medical staff; if the result is positive, or if the driver refuses, the officer may immediately immobilize the vehicle (art. 333).
