Alcohol and drugs: very serious infractions

In the classification of infractions, driving with blood or breath alcohol levels above those of the Reglamento, driving under the effects of drugs, psychotropics, narcotics or similar substances, and refusing the detection tests are all very serious (muy grave) infractions (art. 447). Very serious infractions carry a fine of 90 to 100 UMA (units of measure and update), according to the Catalog of Sanctions (art. 451).
