Hospitals must report accident victims
Public and private medical institutions, and medical professionals, must notify the Secretaría whenever they treat a person whose injuries were caused in a traffic accident, and immediately issue a medical opinion (dictamen).
The dictamen states, among other points: the injured person’s identity, the day and hour received, who brought them, the injuries, whether they show drunkenness or drug impairment, whether the injuries endanger life, whether they will take more or less than 15 days to heal, any disability, and permanent scars or after-effects.
